Last week, we were scheduled to move out of the Fawcett’s (our lovely neighbor’s house with the beautiful pool area) and back into the pop-up in our garden. We were supposed to be done with the renovation by now, but unfortunately like most home remodeling projects, it is behind schedule.
To fit the pop-up into our garden area, we had to take down the back gate, pop-up the living area, hook it up to electrical and water, and then maneuver the Jeep out of the backyard somehow. However, after setting up the pop-up, we got an invitation from our neighbors Tod and Abby to move into their guest house in the backyard. Getting invitations to move from one neighbor to another just like that allowed us to see that not only does the universe have our backs, but our neighbors do too. Also, I don’t think the universe wants us to live in that pop-up.
When we originally were moving into this neighborhood, we intentionally wanted a neighborhood with welcoming neighbors and a community feel. It’s nice to see that this really is coming to fruition and we can’t wait to return the favor! To the Fawcett family who offered up their gorgeous house to us for three months… THANK YOU! To Tod and Abby who are now offering us their guest house, which they could be renting out or using for themselves but instead are so kind as to offer it to us, THANK YOU!

Renovation Update
Progress on the renovation slowed down, so Bekah had to start leading the project. She had to get really clear about deadlines and clear answers about the status of our home. Our project manager for the house is great, and he and Bekah work well together where he has the technical knowledge of what happens if we change things, and Bekah is able to advocate for our needs. For example, Tomer, our project manager, got some bad news that our windows were delayed coming in. Bekah countered by speaking with the window team directly, and got that timeline pulled in. Then Tomer was critical in understanding the whole house and knowing which order the windows had to be put in, and where the renovation is still experiencing hold-up. With Bekah and Tomer leading together from both sides, we saw an immediate improvement in the renovation progress.

HOW WE SEE LEADERSHIP AFFECTING BUSINESS AND HOME LIFE
What leading means is showing what’s possible, and making a space for others to believe. So often we come up against the barrier and what’s not going to happen, how it can’t meet a deadline, etc. Our opportunity as leaders is to clear that disbelief and to inspire a new belief, create new possibilities, and create a space to make that happen. It allows you to see what’s possible, and it allows other people to see that when they set an intention with you, then those beliefs actually create results.
We’re so excited to keep sharing with you our updates, thoughts and intentions. We are so excited to be back in our home and once it is safe to do so, having friends and community members over, and making this a place to gather for all.
